After spending a considerable amount of time expanding my knowledge of the G-Suite- specifically in relation to education, I do have a few concluding thoughts.
- Technology (G-suite included) is only as good and useful as you make it. It is important to not to use “technology for technologies’ sake” and find tools that actually improve your organization, lesson, etc. While I can see the g-suite tools having lots of potential uses, I also can envision times when they would hinder rather than help.
- Privacy is always a concern. I am realizing how important to is to do our due diligence and consult with our district’s tech team before using any new tools to alleviate any privacy concerns. It is our duty to protect the children we have been tasked to educate and nurture.
- We are always learning. I thought I knew G-Suite pretty well considering I have been using it since high school and have lots of experience with the tools. However, I still learned lots of shortcuts and cool uses thorough taking this deep dive into the tools. I am sure that I will continue to learn more tips and tricks as I use G-suite in the education sphere.
I have created a mind map as a summary of all I have learned over the past few months.
