The next step for me as I have been exploring Google’s Suite of tools is to take the Google for Educators level 1 exam.

As preparation, I completed the Basic use of Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals free online course. I found the course mediocre at best. Sure there were a few cool features introduced, but if you have used any google tools before, it was quite repetitive. I also found the clicking thorough the courses to be quite cumbersome and you couldn’t continue to the next module with clicking the back button to the main page. However, if you want some basic information on Google’s tools and are ok watching slow videos and clicking a lot, this is a good beginners course.
The certificate cost $10USD and you need to write it with your web camera on and within a few days of signing up. I will let you know how it goes and would love to hear others experience with either the basic course or the exam. Wish me luck!
